Is the price per boat or per person?
Private charters are priced per boat, so the cost is the same whether two or six of you go. Shared trips, dive trips and most tours are priced per person.
This is the single biggest source of confusion when comparing trips, because a per-boat price and a per-person price look wildly different until you divide by the group.
- Private fishing charters — one price for the whole boat, up to the stated maximum group size.
- Shared and joined trips — priced per person, with the boat filled from several bookings.
- Scuba, snorkel and most land tours — priced per person.
- Children — some captains set a separate child rate, which is shown when you choose your party size.
