Can I bring my dog?
That is entirely the captain's decision and most fishing charters say no. Ask before booking rather than turning up with a dog.
Hooks, gaffs, bait and a moving deck make a working fishing boat a poor place for a pet, and most captains decline for that reason. Private sailing and sunset charters are more likely to say yes.
If a captain does agree, expect conditions: a life vest for the dog, a harness, shade, water, and you cleaning up. Small boats have no shade below and a dog cannot tell you it is overheating. Puerto Vallarta is a dog-friendly town and plenty of hotels and beaches welcome them, but a working boat is a different thing.
If your dog is a trained service animal, say so in your request. That is a different conversation, and most captains will make it work.
