What happens if the weather is bad?
The captain decides, and safety comes before the trip. If the captain cancels for weather you are not left out of pocket — you are offered another date or your money back.
Conditions in Bahía de Banderas can change quickly, particularly through the summer storm season. The decision to sail is the captain's alone, and a captain who calls a trip off is doing their job rather than letting you down.
Rain on its own rarely stops a trip. Wind and swell do. A captain may also shorten a run, stay inshore instead of going offshore, or move your departure earlier to get ahead of the afternoon breeze.
A weather cancellation by the captain is not treated as your cancellation, and the captain's own cancellation terms on the listing do not count it against you.
