How much should I tip the crew?
Between 15% and 20% of the trip price is the normal range in Puerto Vallarta for a crew that has worked well. Tips are given directly to the crew at the dock, in cash, and are never taken through this site.
Tipping is customary here and forms a real part of what a mate earns. Fifteen per cent is a fair baseline, twenty per cent or more for a crew that has put you on fish, handled a nervous guest well, or cleaned a heavy catch.
Pesos are more useful to the crew than dollars. Whatever you pay online, bring the tip in cash.
