How far offshore will we go?
It depends on the trip length. Short trips stay inside the bay, full days reach the Marietas and El Morro, and the long bluewater runs go out to Corbeteña and El Banco.
- Inside the bay — reef and inshore fishing, usually four to six hours, calmest water.
- The Marietas Islands and Punta Mita — roughly an hour out, a common full-day target.
- El Morro and the outer bay — longer days, bigger water, better bluewater chances.
- Corbeteña and El Banco — the deep offshore marks, typically ten to twelve hours or more, and the reason serious anglers come to this bay.
The far marks are a long run in each direction, so a trip advertised as twelve hours may include four hours of travelling. That is normal, and it is the trade-off for fishing water most visitors never see.
